Welcome Charlotte Shelton, President and CEO of Unity Village to our Advisory Council!

Unity Village is a village in Jackson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 140 at the 2000 census. The village is the world headquarters of Unity, which has over 2 millon followers.

"We are in the process of brainstorming," Charlotte wrote, "all of the ways Unity Village and Unity World Headquarters are and can visibly and actively promote peace. We already have a Peace Pole. We are considering re-naming our labyrinth the Peace Labyrinth, asking all who walk it to do so with a peaceful heart, a peaceful mind and a peaceful spirit. We also were gifted with a very large Peace Quilt by the well-known musician James Twyman. As soon as it is displayed, we will send you a collection of peace photos from Unity Village."

Unity stands for peace in the presence of conflict; for love in the presence of hatred; for forgiveness in the presence of injury. Unity honors the many names for God, the many paths to God, the many ways to worship God; for there is only one power and presence of God and that God loves each one of us equally. It is therefore the position of the Association of Unity Churches International and Unity to urge all nations, their leaders and their people to turn to God by whatever the name for guidance during these challenging times and pursue peace, not war, for this is what honors the God of all our faith traditions. Unity stands for peace in our lifetime.
