Kolwezi, D.R. Congo
The Democratic Republic of Congo is a country with vast resources that has experienced over 5.4 million deaths the last two decades due to violence. John Mukhuta Muhiana, Liaison between Kolwezi, D.R. Congo and International Cities of Peace, is the Founder of the World Peace Foundation, DRC, Africa. He has established Lubumbashi and Kolwezi as Cities of Peace and John created the World Flag Ceremony for Peace. “With united hearts and minds,” writes John, “participants in the ceremony are invited to invoke prayers for Peace to prevail in the countries and regions of the world. It is a moving ceremonial ritual that transcends national boundaries, religions and ideologies and expresses the universal desire for peace and harmony that lies at the heart of every human heart.” We need to lift up such courageous peacemakers in countries under siege. International Cities of Peace helps.
