PEACE INSIDE, PEACE OUTSIDE. A town of 300,000, Burnaby is one of Canada’s most ethnically diverse municipalities. With over half of its population born outside of Canada, the community is comprised of 35% Chinese Canadian and nearly 10% South Asian. By offering Heartfulness practices freely,” writes Anusha Allam, a Heartfulness meditation trainer, “we empower individuals in Vancouver to cultivate balance and compassion, contributing to a more harmonious society. I am committed to supporting this global initiative for peace through dedicated service in my city.” Such is mission of International Cities of Peace, to facilitate community-wide support for peace inside and peace outside. The journey of Burnaby has already started, now to embrace a community-wide approach.
