473rd International City of Peace
Emergency preparedness and community safety
FIRST RESPONDERS. Bwaise I and II Parish neighborhoods in Wakiso, Unganda have 40,000 people in one of the country’s most vulnerable informal settlements. “Am here to extend our heart felt gratitude,” writes Namyalo Rebecca and Rwothomio Gregory, the new City of Peace leaders in Bwaise, “for the opportunity given to us as Wakiso Community City of peace to be part of this Global movement. We are really grateful and pledge to do our best to fulfill the requirements as a city of peace and looking forward to utilizing all the opportunities that will be availed to us.” This initiative is intent on transforming the settlements of Bwaise, our 473rd City of Peace initiative, through emergency preparedness, peace education, and community empowerment. Rebecca, Gregory and those who serve in Bwaise, we commend you and are here to help. Cherish the peace
