TIPS FOR APPLYING AS AN INTERNATIONAL CITY OF PEACE! AFTER READING, CLOSE WITH THE "X" AND FILL OUT THE APPLICATION.
Welcome! Registration is quick and easy -- especially when you have the information ready to complete the online Application. The fields, such as "About the Community" are for overview text. Our recommendation is to create an extensive Word document or PDF with photos and formatted text -- offline -- that tells your full community-wide story. Then, copy and paste smaller text blocks into the Register Form. The text displayed will be in one linear paragraph (from 500 to 2000 characters). An extensive, formatted PDF can be uploaded on your Profile to tell your deeper story. Here's what you'll need:
BASIC CONTACT INFORMATION: The Primary Liaison, the leader for two-way communication with our association, will be the only one able to add information and make changes (important to consider from the start!). A Second Liaison is an option (without login ability). You can write about you and your Team in "About the Liaison" field. Four additional signatories (names and emails must be legitimate) are needed to approve the initiative. Options also include your personal peace statement, community website and/or Facebook page, community organizational partners, and more.
ABOUT YOUR COMMUNITY:You must live and/or work in the specific community: a neighborhood, town, or section of a larger City. Use "Search" on our website to see if it is already a City of Peace: www.internationalcitiesofpeace.org . There can only be one for each community, which will be featured in short "About Your Community". Use the PDF upload to give details on the challenges, historical and current issues, as well as successes and solutions.
VISION, MISSION, GOALS:Very important and profound! Provide an overview vision, mission and specific goals and objectives for how you will work to increase safety, prosperity and quality of life in your community.
PHOTOS: Add three (3) photos that you have personally taken or have written copyright permission for usage by International Cities of Peace (no photos from the Internet because of liability). One photo of the overall community, one of a peace activity, one of you and/or your peace team.
ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE CHOSEN YOUR BEST OPTION:
Option 1.FREE LISTING PROFILE. All communities deserve to be a City of Peace! Your Profile will include a listing, short profile and announcement.
SUSTAINING MEMBER Options 2 and 3 are for communities that choose to help ICP continue to provide resources and training.
Option 2. WEB PAGE CITY OF PEACE. Receive the benefits of an extensive community Web Page, public announcements, and more photos and updates. Suggested donation: $450/year, which will go toward training and resources for peacemakers, worldwide.
Option 3. BENEFACTOR PLUS CITY OF PEACE. Receive the benefits of an extensive community Web Page, public announcements, as well as an opportunity to "gift" a more needy community with an ICP Web Page. Suggested donation: $950/year, which will help the City of Peace movement thrive!
Option 4. ROTARIANISM CITIES OF PEACE™. Rotary Clubs can initiate a City of Peace legacy and real-time updates. The positive impact Rotary Clubs have on communities is often unheralded. Let your Rotary Club's Community-wide Story be Told!
AFTER SUBMITTING THE FIRST SIGN-IN BELOW, CLICK THE "X" TO SEE AND FILL-IN THE FULL APPLICATION. All "Required" fields (shown with asterisk *) must be filled in completely (fill in "TBD" or upload a temporary photo or file if you need more time). Sometimes it takes several times before you complete all fields and see a "Thank You" web page after you click the "X". Ensure that all checkbox fields are completed. You can put TBD in required fields where you do not have the info or photos.
