ICP Representatives to U.N. Geneva

In addition to Jennifer Brady, ICP U.N. Representative in New York, International Cities of Peace will have two Representatives from Denmark to the Geneva headquarters of the United Nations in Europe. Kjeld Lanng and Finn Reske-Nielsen will hold ICP grounds passes in Geneva and will investigate how ICP can be of service to the U.N. Human Rights Council. Both have a extensive backgrounds that will be important in representing all ICP Liaisons in the hallowed halls of the U.N. in Geneva.

Mr. Kjeld Lanng holds a Masters in Social Sciences at Aalborg University and a Masters in Mediation and Conflict Resolution from the University of Copenhagen. After a career as Director of Human Resources at Aarhus and Aalborg Universities, he has committed his life to local, regional and global peace. Kjeld volunteers with many peace organizations, including Seniors without Borders on development projects in Africa, especially Uganda. He is a Board Member of Peace City Aalborg, which is pending as the 400th International City of Peace.

Mr. Finn Reske-Nielsen holds a post-graduate degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Aarhus University. He served, among other U.N. positions, as U.N. Special Representative and Head of Mission for the peacekeeping operation in East Timor. In 2012, Finn received the medal of the Ordem de Timor-Leste from East Timor’s President José Ramos-Horta.
