Guerrero State, Mexico, Unity Cities of Peace
International Day of Peace Observances, Sept. 12, 2025
TODAY. Sept. 12, 2025, at the United Nations. It was my honor to write letters of invitation to the Guerrero State, Mexico delegation for attending the 2025 International Day of Peace Observances. International Cities of Peace has Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The Observance corresponded to the Opening Session three days ago of the United Nations General Assembly . Congratulations to Wendy Carbajal Sotelo, Gisela Valenzo Rodríguez, Eder Sebastián Alarcón Hernández, and Donají Sofía Hernández Méndez who traveled from their homes in Guerrero State, Mexico, which has four Cities of Peace: Chilpanchinco, Zihuatanejo, Petatlán, and Benítez. We all wish Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Gutierréz, great success in his peacemaking focus. “Act Now for a Peaceful World” — International Cities of Peace, indeed, is taking concerted Action!
