In 1994, in his Inaugural Address as President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela urged action to build the peace. Now, it is our time. Taking action to build the peace, now and for the future, has never been more important. Authoritarianism is on the rise; people are suffering. What to do? How do we fight without violence? BUILD! Build the infrastructure of peace: thousands of cities across the world dedicated by action and proclamation to PEACE! Build a new era of freedom and justice. We all are frustrated. Angry. Brand new! On April 8th, 2026, we will celebrate the first International Cities of Peace DAY, and each year hereafter.  After 17 years, we are now registered on the database of formal International Days of Celebration.This will give us ALL an opportunity to promote, plan, and honor the work that we’ve done for global peace. Prepare to Celebrate!
