Rotarianism for Cities of Peace!

Thiruvaniyoor, Kerala, India
464th International City of Peace

The Rotary Club of Cochin Suburbs, Club 82247, District 3205, has established https://www.internationalcitiesofpeace.org/user/kochi%20kerala%20india/ as a City of Peace. Thiruvanivoor is a local self-government body in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India, an agriculture community with a population of around 25,327, yet they do not have a library. Their City of Peace Action Plan is to have a library building to house books on peace building. “We uphold the ideals of service above self,” writes new ICP Liaison and Rotary Club President, Ms. Girlia Narayanan, “striving to be ethical in our professional and personal lives, with a strong priority for fellowship.” The intent of International Cities of Peace’s program “Rotarianism for Cities of Peace” is to tell each Club’s story and visions for Rotary Clubs around the globe. The plan in Thiruvaniyoor is a fine example of Rotarian peace builders.
