BUILDING COMMUNITY, OUTWARD BOUND. “We endeavor to forge a partnership of citizens from diverse backgrounds and disciplines,” writes new Liaison Armand Nkoma of the Heartfulness Center in the Verdun, Montréal, Quebec, Canada area, “dedicating our collective creativity to initiatives, educational programs, and services that cultivate a lasting legacy of peace and holistic well-being, for ourselves, and the Earth.” Montréal reports a population of 72,419 for Verdun. About 16,915 residents are immigrants for which the community has many welcoming benefits yet even amidst the plenty, challenges remain of affordable housing and uplifting everyone out of poverty. The Verdun Heartfulness community is ready to help, not only on meditation but with a community-wide focus. “GOALS In every facet of our community whether it be the arts, environment, education, community efforts, government, or religious organizations, we honor the interconnectedness of all life.” Well done.
