Wamba, Nigeria: City of Peace

 

We welcome Gimba Jesse Gimba who along with colleagues has established Wamba, Nasarawa State, Nigeria, as an International City of Peace. Jesse. The mission of the group is to end violence and exploitation facing our world’s most isolated and vulnerable communities and to reinvents how people share knowledge, tell stories, and inspire their community to act on peaceful living.

Our vision is to create a better everyday life for many people.
To be the fastest-growing, most rewarding, and most transformative peaceful community.
To teach others to become peaceful for a better future.
To be the place that people run to when they want peace.

MISSION
To end violence and exploitation facing our world’s most isolated and vulnerable communities.
To reinvents how people share knowledge, tell stories, and inspire their community to act on peaceful living.
To create a better everyday life for the community.
To have a safe Street, safe neighborhood, where every house is a home.
These are pictures from an outreach we did n the City of Wamba,. We were with widows, orphans and even went to some of the hospitals on the outskirts of Wamba to share with them the little we have and to encourage them on peaceful living.
GOAL STATEMENT
Improve the peaceful coexistence of tribal population of the villages, using local and impossible international resource based approach.
Ensuring quality education to the deprived children living in slums area, through a participatory and responsive community action.

OBJECTIVES
To promotes local community-based institutions my formation of groups to educator tribal communities by the end of the first quarter on peaceful living.
To enhance awareness of parents in Target locations on the importance of Peace education through some sensitization comps to be organised in the first quarter.

ABOUT WAMBA, NIGERIA

Wamba is a Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Wamba. It has an area of 1,156 km² and a population of 72,894 at the 2006 census.

Nasarawa State is bounded in the north by Kaduna State, in the west by the Abuja Federal Capital Territory, in the south by Kogi and Benue States and in the east by Taraba and Plateau States. A network of roads exist within the state, linking all rural areas and major towns. The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) operates train services from Kuru, Gombe and Maiduguri

Wamba town is located close to the beautiful Farin Ruwa Falls.One of the highest waterfalls in Africa.The source of the waterfalls is the Jos plateau.
