Grow With Us is a refugee-led, community-based organization (CBO) founded on February 3, 2025, by Marie Ngongo Djuma in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Isingiro District, Uganda. The organization was born out of a commitment to transform the profound "emotional distress" of displacement and poverty into a journey of restoration, dignity, and self-reliance through empowering women and children through high-impact education, economic revitalization and advocacy
Our vision is to be the change where hope is restored, voices are heard, and dreams are no longer limited by circumstances but filled with peace, courage, love and the ability for women and children reach their full potential And our mission is to empower women and children through education, economic empowerment,peace building and advocacy to rediscover their worth and thrive in a brighter future
Our practical goals to equip with refugee women with practical skills, business knowledge, community engagement, mental health and well being, health and hygiene , peace building and children with Education and literacy, child development in all positive aspects.Our objectives is empowerment and revitalization for refugees and host community through peace building, business and economic empowerment, Talent and skills development, Holistic empowerment, unleashing potential
Action for Peace and Non violence
The team leader is known as Marie Ngongo Djuma, a 18 years refugee Congolese residing in Uganda woman who personally experienced the hardships faced by women and children in her community, especially issues of poverty, early pregnancies, gender based violence, emotional distress and lack of economic opportunities for both women and children.She initiated this initiative with the mission of helping children and women rights, self reliance and leadership empowerment.In 2025 she officially graduated a a success ambassador from the Master of Business in the streets course offered by InterWeave solutions international and a wellness counselor through the counseling in the streets course.From deep passion of making a change she's teaching women this entrepreneurship course for the purpose of changing their lives and move from poverty to prosperity besides being refugees.
Yes, I approve the guidelines for an International City of Peace and will provide four or more additional approved signatures of community Peace Team members (see next registration field). "A culture of peace is a set of values, attitudes, traditions and modes of behavior and ways of life based on respect for life, ending of violence and promotion and practice of non-violence through education, dialogue and cooperation. Tenets include: Full respect for and promotion of all human rights and fundamental freedoms; Commitment to peaceful settlement of conflicts; Efforts to meet the developmental and environmental needs of present and future generations; Respect for and promotion of the right to development; Respect for and promotion of equal rights and opportunities for women and men; Respect for and promotion of the right of everyone to freedom of expression, opinion and information; Adherence to the principles of freedom, justice, democracy, tolerance, solidarity, cooperation, pluralism, cultural diversity, dialogue and understanding at all levels of society and among nations; and fostered by an enabling national and international environment conducive to peace." In addition, the Golden Rule - "Do for others as you would have them do for you" -- provides a unity proposition for personal, local and global peace.
