Heartfulness Vancouver is a community of trainers and practitioners dedicated to inner peace and collective wellbeing. Though we do not yet have a dedicated center, Heartfulness sessions and group meditations are offered weekly across the city in community spaces, making our gatherings open, accessible, and welcoming to all members of the public. Trainers from diverse backgrounds are committed to serving individuals and communities with practices that cultivate calmness, resilience, and clarity.
We envision Vancouver as a community rooted in peace, unity, and wellbeing. Our mission is to foster a culture of peace by making Heartfulness meditation and relaxation practices accessible to all, while collaborating with diverse communities to promote inner transformation and collective harmony.
Offer free weekly group meditations across Vancouver. Support individuals in developing inner peace, resilience, and clarity. Partner with schools, colleges, and workplaces for wellbeing programs. Contribute to peace initiatives aligned with the global Cities of Peace network. Establish a future Heartfulness Center in Vancouver as a hub for community peace activities.

Shashi Das began her Heartfulness journey in 2009, inspired by her parents’ gentle example as meditators and trainers. What started as quiet curiosity grew into a steady path of inner exploration and service. In 2016, she became a certified Heartfulness trainer, sharing what deeply enriched her own life. Shashi holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. In 2019, she moved from India to Canada, where she now serves as an HR Manager in pediatric therapy—a role that aligns her profession with her values of compassion and well-being. A mother of one, she finds parenthood a profound journey that nurtures her growth into a kinder human being. She also finds joy in organizing meditation and wellness events in her community, seeing this service as a way of giving back and nurturing peace around her.
Yes, I approve the guidelines for an International City of Peace and will provide four or more additional approved signatures of community Peace Team members (see next registration field). "A culture of peace is a set of values, attitudes, traditions and modes of behavior and ways of life based on respect for life, ending of violence and promotion and practice of non-violence through education, dialogue and cooperation. Tenets include: Full respect for and promotion of all human rights and fundamental freedoms; Commitment to peaceful settlement of conflicts; Efforts to meet the developmental and environmental needs of present and future generations; Respect for and promotion of the right to development; Respect for and promotion of equal rights and opportunities for women and men; Respect for and promotion of the right of everyone to freedom of expression, opinion and information; Adherence to the principles of freedom, justice, democracy, tolerance, solidarity, cooperation, pluralism, cultural diversity, dialogue and understanding at all levels of society and among nations; and fostered by an enabling national and international environment conducive to peace." In addition, the Golden Rule - "Do for others as you would have them do for you" -- provides a unity proposition for personal, local and global peace.
