On September 21, 2023, in the historic Guildhall, Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland acknowledged its long journey from violence to peace as the 391st International City of Peace. Over 300 students from 14 Derry schools and colleges, with backgrounds of Protestant and Catholic roots, came together to envision the future of peace and how they can engage the world to teach courage and hope. J. Frederick Arment, Mayor Patricia Logue, and the peacemaker David Latimer keynoted the event. Congratulations from other City of Peace leaders from all six inhabited continents sent their good wishes and embrace.
