392ND CITY OF PEACE: Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, South Korea
We welcome Mayor Jung Jang-Seon and the citizens of Pyeongtaek City, located in the southwestern tip of Gyeonggi Province, the Republic of South Korea. On October 7, 2023, the community is established and recognized as an International City of Peace and Security. In 1995, Pyeongtaek City, Pyeongtaek County, and Songtan City were merged into one mega-city, Pyeongtaek. J. Frederick Arment, Chair of International Cities of Peace, was requested to send a video congratulations to the event that occurred on Saturday, October 7th — the 70th anniversary year of the Republic of Korea and United States Alliance, “which has built the firm foundation for security, a bountiful existence, and the benefits that reasoned stability and justice brings to a community.”
