478th International Cities of Peace
Central Business Districts Thrive with Peace
WHAT IS… the Pan-African initiative? Will it transform Africa into a global powerhouse. “The International Cities of Peace framework,” writes Mr. Rafique Mohamed, “provides an opportunity for Nakuru to align local action with global peacebuilding efforts and contribute African experiences to the worldwide movement for peaceful societies.” The Central Business District in Nakuru, Kenya (which is home to 1 million residents) is now the 478th International City of Peace and Mr. Rafique has big plans. “To Champion Africa Peace City Initiative,” Mr. Rafique writes of his personal goal, “through Collaboration and Partnership before Africa Union targets of 2063.” Economic development, regional integration, and peace. Mr. Rafique knows that peace is good for business, and business is good for peace. We commend his vision and enterprise and welcome his community to our expanding global network in alignment with the goals of Pan-Africa.
