The Heartfulness Centre of Kelowna is a volunteer-led meditation community focused on cultivating inner peace, emotional balance, and meaningful connection. Beginning as a small group in local homes, it now welcomes people of all backgrounds through Heartfulness Meditation, outreach, and global participation. Inspired by Shri Ram Chandra’s vision of a peaceful, united world, the centre promotes compassion, harmony, and shared responsibility. Through the Community of Hearts nightly Intention for Peace, members join others worldwide in meditation for universal love. Guided by Daaji’s message to believe in oneself and move forward, the centre strengthens both individuals and the wider Kelowna community.
Heartfulness Community Kelowna is a beacon of peace and wellbeing, empowering individuals to realize their highest potential through inner transformation, compassion, and connection. We envision harmonious homes, schools, workplaces, and civic spaces shaped by inspired people living unity, love, and peace. Our mission is to foster a culture of peace that honours shared humanity and our connection with all living beings. Through partnerships across faith, education, business, social service, arts, environment, and governance, we create programs that support lasting peace and holistic wellbeing. Each evening at 9:00 PM ET, we join the Community of Hearts meditation, offering an intention of Peace and Universal Love. Our goal is to integrate Heartfulness values into every area of community life, uplifting society and strengthening the communities we serve.
Heartfulness Centre of Kelowna advances Heartfulness Institute Canada’s purpose through inclusive, volunteer-led community service. We offer free, experience-based Heartfulness Meditation sessions that foster calmness, emotional balance, resilience, and wellbeing. We welcome people of every age, culture, and background in a respectful, caring environment. Our objectives include local outreach through public events, schools, workplaces, and online communication; training and supporting volunteers; and partnering with educational, social, cultural, interfaith, business, and civic organizations. We organize annual International Day of Peace and International Day of Yoga events, followed by ongoing meditation sessions, wellbeing resources, and volunteer opportunities. We also support the nightly Community of Hearts Intention for Peace, nurturing goodwill, compassion, universal love, and peaceful relationships throughout Kelowna

"A culture of peace is a set of values, attitudes, traditions and modes of behavior and ways of life based on respect for life, ending of violence and promotion and practice of non-violence through education, dialogue and cooperation. Tenets include: Full respect for and promotion of all human rights and fundamental freedoms; Commitment to peaceful settlement of conflicts; Efforts to meet the developmental and environmental needs of present and future generations; Respect for and promotion of the right to development; Respect for and promotion of equal rights and opportunities for women and men; Respect for and promotion of the right of everyone to freedom of expression, opinion and information; Adherence to the principles of freedom, justice, democracy, tolerance, solidarity, cooperation, pluralism, cultural diversity, dialogue and understanding at all levels of society and among nations; and fostered by an enabling national and international environment conducive to peace." In addition, the Golden Rule - "Do for others as you would have them do for you" -- provides a unity proposition for personal, local and global peace.
